Bandirma Gübre Fabrikaları A.Ş. (BAGFAS) is one of the leading and innovative institutions in the fertilizer industry. Beginning from the date of establishment, the Company has introduced many novelties to the sector both in Turkey and over the world with the principle of consistent development.

BAGFAS Integrated Fertilizer Plants have been located on the south coasts of the Sea of Marmara, between Bandırma and Erdek, the two townships of Balikesir, on an area where Kapidag Peninsula meets with the mainland.
BAGFAS is a public company and bears the qualifications which required in the regulations of Turkish Capital Market. The Company sets a pace in the sector with its technical and legal applications and social initiations.

BAGFAS was founded in 1968 by the initiation of Mr. Recep Gençer, then a young industrial chemical engineer who also contributed in the establishment of Etibank Borax and Boric Acid Plants, with the supportive participation of local farmers and businessmen. Following the establishing period BAGFAS opened up to public and the shares of the Company started to be dealed in the stock markets. The headquarters of the Company was moved to Istanbul in 1978 by the unanimous consent of the Board.
